Learn the three main MISTAKES that prevent DJ's from developing their own skills and techniques.
Mistake #1: "Learning How To DJ From Books Is Too Difficult..."
This is the number one culprit that most new DJ's fall victim too. They think they can pick up a book and learn how to DJ overnight. I'm sorry to say it just doesn't happen like that. If there is one thing I've learned that I can pass on to you is that without actually seeing how it's done, books on how to DJ are pretty much useless.
Mistake #2: "I can learn how to DJ by using my friends DJ equipment..."
This is another big hindrance and probably the most unbeknown to beginner DJ's. This catches most new DJ's off guard because learning DJ skills and techniques on another persons DJ equipment will hinder your development to personalize and create your own style. Why? Because you can only use their equipment when they're available. Besides, owning your own DJ equipment allows you explore your creativity on your own time when that spectacular idea pops in your head!.
Mistake #3 "I'll just buy some cheap DJ equipment and learn on that..."
Using "cheap DJ equipment" is basically like committing a crime in the DJ community. Avoid this mistake at all costs. There are many reasons why you should but here are the biggest reasons. (1) Belt drive turntables are worthless for DJ's and they are not made for DJing. (2) Using cheap DJ equipment will only throw your DJ skills and techniques off. (3) Buy the right DJ the first time because like I've told tens of thousands of people "DJing is easy when you have the right equipment."
"Danny,
I just finished your book and wanted to say GREAT JOB! The nice part of having a book is being able to refer to it when ever I want and refresh your lessons in my mind.
Very inspirational and full of very useful information.
The thing I liked most is that you not only focused on the information on becoming a great dj, but you also talked about, and stressed the importance of becoming a great person.
It's great to see you giving back, and I know with our busy schedules as dj's it really took a commitment on your part to be able to deliver such a well thought out book, and for that I commend you!
All the best,"

Download DJ mix software here great bit of kit, Free
Internet DJ Console is a program that I started writing in March of 2005 after discovering the lack of DJ software on Linux that suited me. The programs that I did find were either feature poor, full of bugs, suited more towards the live side of things, or sadly did not even compile. It dawned on me that something needed to be done and that having some coding skills of my own that I may as well have a go myself. The basics of the different components of the project and how they would fit together came to me almost with ease so after pondering the sketch I drew a few days later I started coding. The result is Internet DJ Console. I hope you like it, and if you want to make any suggestions for features or have a gripe or bug report, you can contact me at click here

Who is he?
DJ Cruze is better known as Marc Littlemore and was born in a small town called Frodsham in Cheshire, England. He now resides in Didsbury, Manchester.
Humble beginnings
His love of electronic music started at an early age when he was introduced to the Streetsounds “Electro” compilations in the mid 80s. His introduction to electro and hip-hop forged his love for both funky and electronic music. Listening to Radio 1’s Jeff Young, the predecessor to Pete Tong, on Friday evenings encouraged him to create push-button cassette mixes and started his vinyl buying habit. Trying to embrace the early hip-hop culture he realised that his rapping skills were terrible and his graffiti equally as bad so he turned to the only thing left to do; DJ. On a belt-driven pair of Soundlab turntables and a Radioshack mixer he started to learn to mix and scratch. Surprisingly he became quite good and his mix-tapes got passed around the schoolyard.
